The Production
Tenzing tells the story of Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary’s historic 1953 ascent of Mount Everest, with the story told through Tenzing’s journey and his relationship with the mountain.
I joined the second unit production, working on location across Nepal and New Zealand. My work took me from the landscapes and communities of the Himalaya to the high-mountain environments of New Zealand, contributing both behind the camera and in front of it.
Working as an Assistant Camera under the second unit camera team, I supported filming in demanding mountain environments. I also worked as a body double for Tenzing Norgay and Ang Norbu during climbing and mountain sequences.
The project gave me the opportunity to bring together my experience in climbing, camera work and Sherpa culture on a feature film telling one of the most important stories in Himalayan history.
